Julius Randle retreated to the locker room after an apparent ankle injury towards the end of the first half. Find out what happened to the player.

Julius Randle gets injured in the Knicks' game against the Cavaliers.
New York Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-95 in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series and advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals. The team won a playoff series for the first time since 2013, yet, the victory was bittersweet. The Knicks’ star player Julius Randle re-injured his ankle and left the court midway through the game. A happy day for the Knicks fans was coupled with this sad instance as Randle’s health raised legitimate concerns. New York Knicks cruised past Cleveland Cavaliers despite their primary scorer barely featuring in the game.
Julius Randle was forced to leave the court midway through the game due to an ankle injury, post which he didn’t return. With only over a minute remaining in the second quarter, the Cavaliers’ Caris Lavert drove into the paint. Randle’s defensive instincts kicked in immediately as Lavert went for a jump shot. Randle jumped in a successful block attempt but went on the ground after landing awkwardly. After staying on the ground for a while, Randle eventually returned to the locker room.
Randle suffered a similar injury to the same ankle in the recent past. His injury occurred towards the end of the regular season after he unintentionally stepped on Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo’s foot. An old injury coming back doesn’t sound like good news for Randle and the team. Though, the team seemed unaffected despite the absence of their star player. Randle, who had a good game before leaving for the locker room, scored 13 points. This added to the lead which the Knicks didn’t lose throughout the game.

Despite Randle’s injury, nothing seemed to be holding the team back as they delivered one of their best performances of the season.
