The heads of the Curry household filed for a divorce after 33 years of marriage

Stephen Curry often had both his parents cheering his on the side stand, but would not be the case anymore. Dell Curry was accused by Sonya last year of cheating on her multiple times during their marriage. She claimed that her, now ex-husband, had committed, “illicit sexual misconduct” with several women and that the entire family as well as friends knew about it.
In response to the accusation, Dell claimed that his ex-wife had an affair with the former tight end of New England Patriots, Steven Johnson. He also claimed that Sonya lied every time she cheated on him. According to him, she even lived with Johnson in his house at Bristol, Tennessee, which Sonya denied saying that stayed alone because Dell would not let her live in their family home.
Stephen Curry opened up about his parents’ divorce

Stephen Curry is a very family oriented person himself. His parents had always been there for his achievements and obviously it would mean something important as well. The pair had filed for divorce in June 2021. Steph did not have been parents by his when he broke Ray Allen’s all time three-pointers made record.
“I had to make sure I was in that moment with both of them separately and this wasn’t just this whole kind of thing. That is how I choose to approach that. Because it is challenging,” he said. “I could be mad and be like ‘Y’all effed this up.’ I could have that approach. But it’s going to be an acknowledgment of both of y’all in terms of how y’all raised me. The calmness I have in myself is because of y’all.”
