To those who are not aware Brittney Griner’s detention was previously extended for two months by a court decision. But with the looming fears of the trail getting postponed by at least a year or maybe even worse, 18 months before she can even make a case for herself to return back home. Griner was initially detained at the Moscow airport in mid-February over possession of cartridges in her luggage containing oil derived from cannabis, which constitutes up to 10 years in prison in Russia.

Given that this is only an update, basketball fans all over the world want Griner to return back home and probably on the basketball court. Moreover, being away from family and friends in a foreign land, whose legal terms with United States of America can get worse any minute, heart goes out to the same player. Hopefully she comes back sooner rather than later.

That being said, with all eyes on the Men’s NBA semi-final series underway, people do not to take up Griner’s matter much more seriously. Especially, with the delay in her trail happening after ever 10-day gap.
