“You get a taste of defeat you act like this lol” – NBA Twitter THRASHES Warriors for accusing Domantas Sabonis’ of using ball as a ‘weapon’

As the NBA playoffs continue, quite a lot of series are getting more and more interesting. The defending champions, Golden State Warriors have never faced such a challenge in the first round of the postseason.

Stephen Curry and the Warriors are down 0-2 against a team that made its first playoff appearance in the last 17 years. Following the first two games, a lot has happened apart from their lack of performance.

The Dubs’ facilitator, Draymond Green was suspended for his unsportsmanlike behavior in Game 2. And quite recently the Warriors came up with an accusation that doesn’t really suit an organization like them.

Being down 0-2 was something that the Warriors never witnessed in the past decade. This organization has made six Finals appearances in the last eight and has won four championships in that run. To be in the position they are today is certainly something no Warriors fan would’ve expected. Looking at the statistics of the past 2 games, the Dubs have averaged 41 rebounds to the Kings’ 45. While this is not at all a huge margin, the Warriors came up with an accusation that center Domantas Sabonis has been using the ball as a weapon. This accusation of theirs had fans on Twitter unsupportive of the statement.

The Dubs accused Sabonis of pushing players on the offensive boards as well as playing with his elbows out. While playing with the elbows flaring out on rebound might be Sabonis’ box-out technique, shoving players while grabbing an offensive rebound is definitely an offensive foul. The Warriors had to send this message to the league probably after facing the physicality in the first two games with the referees not paying attention. Even though this may be a valid accusation, for a team like Golden State, such an accusation belittles them.

Golden State will host the Kings for the next two games, having home-court advantage. And by the looks of it, the Dubs cannot afford to lose any of the home games, so as to avoid either a 0-3 or 1-3 deficit in this series. They have a history of making comebacks in such competitive series, but never in the first round. Regardless of their successful comebacks, the Warriors will look to give their all in the next two games.

This organization has been in this particular situation nine times before but has never made a comeback. It will be interesting to see if Stephen Curry’s Warriors defy those odds and strike back. Do you think the Warriors have a chance to even out the series? Let us know in the comments.
