“You gotta bust his a**” – Stephen A. Smith wants LeBron James to CRUSH Dillon Brooks and Grizzlies in Game 3

Stephen A. Smith weighs in on Dillon Brooks' comments and the Lakers' struggles in Game 2 of the playoffs

“You gotta bust his a**” – Stephen A. Smith wants LeBron James to CRUSH Dillon Brooks and Grizzlies in Game 3

Memphis Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks caught attention after an overheated exchange with LeBron James after their Game 2 victory over the Lakers on Wednesday night. Brooks slandered the NBA veteran with words like ‘old’ and ‘tired’. That wasn’t the end of it when Brooks added he wasn’t worried about James unless he dropped 40 points on him. These comments did not sit well with some, including ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.

During a recent episode of First Take, Smith bashed Brooks for disrespectful comments about a player like LeBron James. “When you chirp like Dillon Brooks chirped last night, you gotta bust his a**,” he stated. Smith believes that Brooks’ words may come back to haunt him the next time the Lakers and Grizzlies meet in Game 3.

While the Grizzlies are feeling confident after a Game 2 victory in the absence of their leader Ja Morant, Smith preemptively warns that going after playoff James may not be the best idea for them. 38-year-old James may be an old head in the league, but he is still putting up numbers that make him one of the dominant players in the game today.

Despite James’ impressive performance with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists, the Lakers ultimately fell short in Game 2 against the Grizzlies. One of the major factors contributing to their loss was the lack of contribution from their star center Anthony Davis.

Davis, who is usually a dominant force on the offensive side, was non-existent for most of the game. In almost 38 minutes of play, he only managed to score 13 points and grab eight rebounds. If Davis continues to perform this way, it could be a major setback for the Lakers and send them home this round.

However, it’s not just Davis who needs to step up for the Lakers. The team as a whole needs to play better if they want to advance to the next round of playoffs. The Lakers struggled with turnovers in Game 2, with 12 compared to the Grizzlies’ 10. They also had a hard time hitting shots from beyond the arc, with only 7 three-pointers made out of 26 attempts.

LeBron James and Co. will need to make some adjustments before their next game. They will hope to find a way to get Davis more involved in the offense and limit their turnovers. If they can do that, they might have a chance to come back and win the series.
