It started with several women accusing him of having sexual relationships with them. Then he was rumored to be on the trading block by the New Orleans Pelicans. And, now it’s once again another bad headline for Zion Williamson and his relationship with his team New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans and their thoughts and interest in trading Zion Williamson are a complete mystery. But the latest revelation by NBA Insider, Brian Windhorst is making the blurry image a bit clear. Many reports suggested that the New Orleans Pelicans aren’t interested in trading Zion Williamson. As the rumors suggested they are willing to do so for landing Scoot Henderson in the Draft.
But Brian Windhorst recently claimed that there is no relationship between Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans on his podcast. As expressing his feelings for the surprising discussion around the former No.1 pick he quoted: “It’s surprising to me how out there it is in the league that the Pelicans are discussing Zion business. I want to be very careful about the word ‘offer’ because that word is a dangerous word. I’m not sure the Pelicans have ‘offered’ Zion to anybody, but every day that passes over the past five or six days…”
Further, Brian Windhorst added: “There is no relationship between Zion and the organization. And minimal relationship between Zion and his teammates, from what I understand.” Honestly, it’s a bit understandable as Zion Williamson is not even close to the expectations the franchise had for him. As most of the time he is either riding the bench or injured and unavailable for the team throughout his ongoing career.
Brian Windhorst believes New Orleans Pelicans are putting the rumors around Zion Williamson out
The discussions around Zion Williamson and his availability in the trade market are really a mystery. As some days the reports claim something and the other day it’s just the complete opposite of it. But Brian Windhorst who has heard discussions about the New Orleans Pelicans making either Zion Williamson or Brandon Ingram available claims it’s the franchise that wants to land Scoot Henderson that is sending out these rumors.
As Brian Windhorst quoted: “It is extraordinarily out there about how much the Pelicans are interested in Scoot Henderson. To the point where I’m like, ‘How is this out there so hard unless the Pelicans want it out there?’ So I’m nervous about giving that attention, but it is still there.”
Further, Brian Windhorst also added that the thoughts of the New Orleans Pelicans around Zion Williamson and his future are evolving day by day. So we may find him shipped across the league soon, especially, because of his unavailability and the interest the franchise has in Scoot Henderson.
