Zion Williamson has performed exceptionally well in the recent NBA games.

Zion Williamson has been going off lately, as he has managed to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to its last four wins in five games. Williamson has lacked consistency in recent years.
From not being available to play because of injuries, Williamson’s hype has seen a major downfall. He was the most anticipated rookie to step foot on the NBA hardwood, though circumstances changed the course of his first few seasons.
Before making his comeback from his foot injury, he missed the entirety of the 2020-21 season. Williamson was called out on social media to have put on weight.
He is a strong and dominant athlete standing 6 foot 6, and weighing over 284 pounds and his level of athleticism is unmatched. However, his recent performances have put an exclamation point on the haters. Following are the fan reactions:
In the last four games, Williamson has averaged 29.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and four assists per game. Not only that but he also shot 63% from the field in the four-game stretch. The 23-year-old’s consistency has heavily improved, as the fans finally got the best version of him. The Pelicans are fifth in the West, cruising with a record of 40-26.
Zion Williamson was heavily criticized by famous critics
Talk show critics like Stephen A. Smith and NBA Hall of Famers, like Shaquille O’Neal, and Charles Barkley have called out Williamson for being unfit numerous times. He had received various such comments even from fans. At the time, when he was amid a comeback, there were concerns about him being a possible liability. There were even talks about trades involving him.
This season, the 23-year-old proved everyone wrong, slowly improving his consistency as the games went by. Now being a primary scorer of the Pelicans, he will be making his playoff debut this year. Previously, the Pelicans fell to OKC in the Play-In tournament. Though with a healthy Zion Williamson on their roster, New Orleans will be looking to become a tougher team to compete in the postseason.
Williamson has shown his dominance, playing against players his size. His speed, versatility, and quickness aren’t usual for someone who has the same physique. While the two-time All-Star has been off from long range, he makes up for his scoring in the paint and during transition. It will be interesting to see Williamson dominate in the playoffs. This would be a huge stage for the Pelican, rising from all the hate and doubt.
