The Legendary Sixer Julius Erving has finally opened up on his favorite player who he believes is the most deserving player to receive the MVP recognition by the league for this NBA season.
In the NBA community, the current most debated topic is who’s going to be the MVP of the 2021-22 NBA season. There are three primary contenders for the award, they are Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, Sixers center Joel Embiid, and Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. The player who is most favorite and leading the race is reigning MVP Jokic who has absolutely stunned everyone through his recent 38 points performance against the Lakers.
The Nuggets’ star center is averaging 26.8 PPG, 13.7 RPG, and 8.0 APG this season, on the other side Joel Embiid is giving him tough competition for the MVP awards as he is averaging 30.2 PPG, 11.6 RPG, and 4.2 APG. He demonstrated his MVP worth through his recent game-winning 44 points performance against the Cavs
After which the Sixers big man also said, “If. it [winning MVP] doesn’t, I don’t know what I have to do. I’ll feel like they hate me. I feel like the standard for guys in Philly or for me is different than everyone else.”

Sixers legend Julius Erving a.k.a Dr. J believes that Nikola Jokic is most deserving for MVP but he will vote for Joel Embiid
However, the final decision for the MVP of the season is yet to come out but Sixers legend Dr. J has revealed his favorites in the latest episode of The Rich Eisen Show.
“I’m hopeful that Embiid wins it because he does talk about it and there’s something is one of those carrots out that he’s reaching for but I think the most deserving guy is Jokic,” Dr. J said.
Later Erving added, “He (Jokic) hasn’t missed any games in the night out and he’s done it did better than he did last year so he was MVP last year and when you get better, I don’t think you lose status not if it’s a fair fight. I’m going to vote for Embiid because he’s my guy and Antetokounmpo who knows how he’s going to finish up.”

Moreover, Julius Erving also discussed whether the Philadelphia 76ers is going to win the NBA championship or not. “I think they’re going to surprise everybody,” Erving said. “Right now they’ve been playing with some inconsistency in terms of finishing games against teams that they’re supposed to beat.”
