Draymond Green fires shots at Rudy Gobert

Draymond Green recently signed a deal with Turner as part of which he will appear on TNT’s Inside The NBA shows. Green already has a good relationship with the Turner group and has worked with them in the past. He is also currently working with Turner-owned Bleacher Report’s show Chips.

For one such commitment as part of the deal, Draymond Green was part of the All-Star Reserves revelation on TNT’s Inside the NBA. The players selected as the All-Stars reserves from the West were Devin Booker, Luka Doncic, Chris Paul, Donovan Mitchell, Draymond Green, Karl Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert.

After this Draymond was asked who he thinks has taken an All-Star rejection the worst ever. Draymond was quick to answer and he picked Rudy Gobert. Green said – “That has to be Rudy [Gobert] man. The man cried on National television after not making it to the All-Star team. Thank God he made the next three [All-Star teams].”

Ernie Johnson, Co-Host on the show said after these Draymond comments – “Stop it Dray, leave that man alone.” Draymond, being the outspoken man that he is, was not going to be the one to eat up his own words. Green further added – “I mean you can’t cry Chuck, as I said it then, I am gonna say it now. I got killed on Twitter then, I will probably get killed today. But you can’t cry. Come on man”. What did Draymond Green say in 2019

Draymond was referring to the incident in 2019. Rudy Gobert did not make the 2019 All-Star team even after his good performances over the years. He was even the NBA Defensive Player of the Year a year prior in 2018. Then, in 2019, he won that accolade again but not the All-Star selection. He was also making the NBA Defensive Teams and All-NBA teams before his first All-Star selection. So, after the 2019 snub, Gobert broke into tears in the middle of the interview talking about how he felt about the snub.

Draymond Green then found this odd and took to Twitter considering crying too as he did not make the cut as well. Green tweeted – “I guess I should cry too…No Charlotte?” However, it was much more than crying for Rudy Gobert. He loves basketball and has been vocal about how he wants to leave his legacy. All-Star selections mean something to him and not getting it made him cry, just like losing the Gold Medal game in Tokyo Olympics to the Team USA. When a player is fine with competing on the court for the world to see, it should be okay to be fine with your natural emotions on the television too.
