Giannis Antetokounmpo had completed the challenges that were set for him by the Late Kobe Bryant, of winning the league MVP and the NBA championship. Kobe Bryant was unable to see him lift the MVP trophy, but due to unforeseen and heart-breaking circumstances, he was unable to witness Giannis win the league title.

Giannis Antetokounmpo completed the challenges set by the late Kobe Bryant in 2021 when he won the NBA title in 2021 against the Suns in game 6. Giannis Antetokounmpo has reflected on the time when Kobe was putting up challenges for certain players about different things such as Isaiah Thomas to get in the All-NBA first team, and DeMar DeRozan to become friends yet again in Compton.

After seeing Kobe giving out challenges he also tweeted to Kobe, “Still waiting for my challenge…”, to which Kobe Bryant at the time challenged him to win the league MVP.

And Giannis went on to win the 2019 league MVP, when talking about winning the MVP he reflected on the time Kobe set him up to the task, “At first, I was joking, I didn’t think that he would respond to me, but when he did, he made me believe. Kobe Bryant thinks I can do this… I had to do it. I had to work hard,”

When Giannis completed the challenge in 2019 after winning the MVP, Kobe Bryant then challenges the Greek Freak to win an NBA title. It all started out as a joke for Giannis, but Kobe made him believe that this is what he can achieve, so strong were the words of Kobe Bryant that Giannis believed that he could do it, and since then he has won 2 MVP awards. The next step for him to finally complete all the challenges was for him to deliver an NBA title to the Bucks.

Giannis completed the challenge after putting on a strong display in the NBA finals against the Phoenix Suns.

In game 6 of the 7-game series, he helped the Bucks seal the victory and won the Finals MVP as well. He racked up incredible stats to which even Kobe Would be smiling from up above. Giannis averaged 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 5 assists, that too in his first-ever finals appearance.
