“No spirited MVPs”: Fans lash out at Kevin Durant after replicating unsportsman-like spirit like LeBron James in Nets return against Heat

Kevin Durant made his return against the Miami Heat after months in rehabilitation for his knee injury which had him sidelined. On January 15 Kevin Durant suffered an MCL sprain against the New Orleans Pelicans entering the second quarter and since then was of no use for the team. As even being the primary player he wasn’t able to step up for them. His return against the Bam Adebayo led Heat was successful individually but the team fell short as the Heat stars outshined them every moment.
Recently, the Brooklyn Nets hosted the Miami Heat at Barclays Center. After a closely contested and head-to-head match-up, the Nets fell short against the Heat as they were better in all necessary aspects. The final box score stands at 107-113 favoring the Miami Heat. Currently, the Brooklyn Nets are ranked as the 8th seed in the eastern conference with the record tied at 32 wins and 32 losses at .500. While the Miami Heat rules the conference rankings.
In the game, Kevin Durant dropped 31 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds while playing for 35 minutes. Another MVP calibre performance of his just as he returns back to the game. But fans now want him out of the MVP conversation since he already isn’t a top contender and in the matchup against the Miami Heat, he showed some unsportsmanlike spirit. As he left the game early without dabbing the other stars of the opposite team up.

Kevin Durant had a successful return but didn’t win the game, which brings the count down on him. As he had multiple opportunities to score during the clutch when the game was close and the Nets had enough chances to go for a tie or even bring the lead. But Kevin Durant kept missing shots in clutch which eventually sold the game. The frustration of all those shots not going in was fair and seen as Kevin left the court without showing any love or respect to the players on the other end.
Fans are mad due to this behaviour of KD as they criticize him for it. Many also bring LeBron James into the conversation as he has shown this behaviour many times in the past. Fans believe even KD should be treated as LeBron and criticism should be thrown at him while they try to grab him out of the MVP conversation.
