Anthony Davis will be returning soon as his injuries are healed and he is good to start practicing with the team again. His return plays an important role in regards to the future of the Los Angeles Lakers this season. The Lakers need him to step up if they want to make it to the playoffs or even win the play-in tournament to get a spot. As the team is down and low with the supporting cast being good at nothing and just LeBron James stepping up with MVP calibre performances which ends on a defeat against the team they should easily win and improve their record.
Currently, the Anthony Davis less Los Angeles Lakers are ranked as the ninth seed in the western conference of the league with the record of 29 wins and 39 losses at .426. So Anthony Davis’ return would hold a major impact on the run. Since his addition will let LeBron James shift back to his normal role and bring in some defense with good mobility. Anthony Davis though has been out of the form for months now, still he has the potential to win it all alongside LeBron James. But his concerning injuries always hold him down.
Kendrick Perkins and Stephen A. Smith discussing Anthony Davis’ return made some honest admissions while keeping their views in front. It was a complete debate as Kendrick Perkins thinks Anthony Davis should be shut-downed for the rest of the season while Stephen A. Smith believes a healthy him will carry the team as far as he can alongside LeBron James.

Kendrick Perkins and Stephen A. Smith on Anthony Davis’ return
Kendrick Perkins discussing the return quoted: “No, no bring him back for what now. Why would you bring him back? And now brining him back and saying get in to the play-in turn it into having a stronger possibility of competing in the first round. It makes zero sense. The Lakers have one expectation and one goal that is to win the championship and they are not doing it this year. Not with the personnel they have right now. Russell Westbrook is completely out of it whatever reasons off the court with his family… Him and LeBron James have zero chemistry. Carmelo Anthony can’t guard a parked car… Why bring Anthony Davis back.”
Further, they also brought Memphis Grizzlies and Kevin Garnett in the conversation as Perk mentioned how they (Boston Celtics) shut downed Kevin Garnett. Adding to it Stephen A. Smith quoted: “If LeBron is playing at an elite level. Anthony Davis is being Anthony Davis. Then could we say they could win a playoff first-round series, win a play-in game, win a semifinal game.” Both of them also discussed a series between Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers while Stephen A. Smith defended a healthy duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis while discussing other stars of the roster and how bad the team in on the defensive end.
Both the analyst further had some fun discussing uncertain scenarios bringing in the James Harden diet regarding the events which may or may not happen. Kendrick and Smith both of them are right at their points as the Los Angeles Lakers somewhere hang in between being committed and given up. As except LeBron James, there aren’t many who showcase the same amount of energy and efforts to get dub while getting the job done so their future totally depends upon Anthony Davis once he returns.
