Jayson Tatum fires back at Kendrick Perkins

Jayson Tatum and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins seem to be getting involved in an online tussle with each other. It all started with a Perkins’ tweet after the Boston Celtics got their redemption victory against the New York Knicks at home.

Uplift one man without bringing the other down: Jayson Tatum

The contrast in performances of the All-Star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is what got Kendrick Perkins talking. Perkins tweeted congratulating Brown on his first triple-double of the career. In the same tweet, he also mentioned the numbers of Jayson Tatum in the game which were not very impressive considering Tatum’s standard.

Jayson Tatum took some offense with this as he later quote tweeted Perkins’ original tweet. Tatum asked to normalize ‘uplifting’ someone without ‘bringing anyone down‘. He agreed on the Jaylen Brown’s appreciation part but suggested Perkins leave it at that.

Kendrick Perkins was quick to reply to Jayson Tatum too. Perkins then clarified himself and what he really meant to say. Perkins said his point was that he wants to see him and Brown on the same page and have ‘great games‘ together.

Although we have seen Tatum and Brown have great games together, it hasn’t been consistent. They are one of the best one-two punches in the entire NBA and if they can combine to nearly 60 points per game, the league would be in trouble.
