“One of the best LA battles ever”: Wild scenes at Crypto.com as Clippers edge past Lakers
Reggie Jackson and Russell Westbrook
The battle between Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers was once again very unpredictable which eventually ended as one of the best Los Angeles battles ever. The match-up was closely contested and head to head with the Clippers maintaining a short lead for straight three quarters. But the Los Angeles Lakers almost made a comeback in the last quarter especially the final minutes as they were able to hold the offensive rally of the Clippers. Reggie Jackson of Clippers though had some other plans as he closed it all for the Los Angeles Lakers hitting a game-winning lay-up.
Anthony Davis with twelve seconds remaining got the one-point lead by a dunk as Russell Westbrook threw a lob to him. But Reggie Jackson upsetting the defensive end of the Lakers won the game in style as he spinning towards the rim won the game with a right hand up and down lay-up. Not giving up the Lakers were still in the run as Anthony Davis controlling the ball tried to win it for his team but missed the shot.
Currently, the Los Angeles Lakers are ranked as the ninth seed in the western conference with the record of 25 wins and 28 losses at .472 as missing their leader they maintain a losing record. On the other hand, the injury-affected shorthanded Los Angeles Clippers are ranked as the 8th seed in the western conference with the record tied at 27 wins and 27 losses at .500.
The match-up was never supposed to be this close as the Los Angeles Lakers had a far better roster than what the Clippers had. But unfortunately, the team again fell short and failed to deliver as the final box score stands at 110-111. Players were better on an individual level as they stepped up from both the ends but the Lakers as a team was again down at chemistry.
