“Our Hero” Draymond Green gets a standing ovation in first appearance after 29-game absence

Draymond Green

For the first time since the 2019 NBA Finals, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry lined up all-together to represent the Golden State Warriors. After missing 29-games due to his respective injury, potential Defensive Player of the Year candidate, Draymond returned and the Dub Nation were surely ready with their mindset to applaud the veteran playmaker.

To those who are not aware, Draymond Green missed a total of 29-games due to his lingering back issue. But now with the playoff approaching, the former NBA Champion is back to help out his team as they hosted the Washington Wizards. With Green stepping onto the court and checking in, the home crowd were on their feet to applaud their marquee player. Safe to say, without whom, they have evidently struggled on the defensive end.

Chase Center gives standing ovation to Draymond Green

Chase Center was rocking as they welcomed Draymond back into the fold. Green could not have returned in a more opportune time for the Warriors, who are now on the rise again after their post-All-Star break slump. The Golden State Warriors entered Monday’s contest on a three-game winning streak after going 1-5 in their previous six games.

There aren’t too many players in the league who have such a major impact on their squad quite like Green. Now that he’s back, the Warriors should establish themselves as a real threat in the Western Conference yet again.

The Dubs have seen Memphis Grizzlies overtake them in the Western Conference Standings, and have been below par (as per their standards) in the second half of the 2021-22 season. Approaching playoffs, the Steve Nash team would require all hands-on deck, if they are to make a deep playoff run. Where will the Warriors be, with their big 3 finally coming on board? Remains to be seen as the hoop festivity of the 2021-22 NBA Season continues on, with only a month remaining in the regular season.
