If there was one modern-day player who seems to be establishing himself in the most clutch moment, it surely Atlanta Hawks Trae Young. The 23-year-old guard has answered his critics by inspiring his team in the second half with epic 30-point performance to ensure his team’s berth in the playoffs.
Having trailed by double digits in the first half, the Hawks were without John Collins and Clint Capela. Up stepped Trae Young to single-handedly secure a ticket to the final showdown with a tally of game-high 38 points and 9 assists. Safe to say, Young loves crushing the playoff dreams of his opponents, with New York Knicks being on the receiving end last season, it is Cleveland Cavaliers to suffer the same fate this time around.

As seen in the video, some fans didn’t like it and shouted at Trae Young. But hey, the Hawks star couldn’t care less about what they were saying. He had the last laugh and that’s all that matters. Atlanta is going to the playoffs while Cleveland is staying home vacationing.
After scoring just six points in the first half (with zero coming in the second period), he exploded for 32 points in the final 24 minutes of play to lead the team to a 107-101 victory. While it’s frustrating for Cavaliers fans, the fact of the matter is Young was just too difficult to stop.
That being said, the Hawks have a task on their hand as they will lock horns against the mighty and top seeded Miami heat in the first round. Will we witness the legend of Trae Young growing and elaborating against Jimmy Butler’s army? Remains to be seen. But for now, just like JA Morant and LeBron James, everyone should be applauding the leadership and commitment of Ice Trae Young as he once again answered all his critics on the ultimate stage.
