Yeah, for sure, but that presumes TV keeps going up the way it is… but you’re gonna see $100 million a year here shortly… Because if a TV contract has 10% increases in the cap, the way the CBA works. And you saw Steph had $62 million for one year. Luka will get a lot and it’s gonna go crazier.

Mark Cuban replied

Cuban is well-versed in the inner workings of the NBA and its current trajectory. Undoubtedly, the NBA is experiencing unprecedented growth. This has been possible because the league has been drawing record numbers of followers, viewers, and media attention worldwide.

Additionally, when the new CBA agreement goes into force the following season, it will significantly boost the league’s profit potential. Therefore, it makes sense that players will soon be making enormous salaries in the NBA.

Jayson Tatum has the richest contract in NBA currently

Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics is now regarded as one of the league’s top stars. Tatum, a five-time All-Star, signed a five-year contract with the Celtics this summer after receiving a 25% rookie max extension. He now owns the most lucrative NBA deal in history as a result.

Tatum continues to hold the record for the highest-paid NBA contract in history after signing a five-year, whooping $314 million extension this past summer. This is as of September 2024. Stephen Curry will earn $62.6 million in the 2026–2027 season.

As Cuban mentioned, the contracts of the top NBA players will soon be worth $100 million or more a year. This is because their potential earnings have virtually no upper bound. Before their careers are up, even the most talented young players in the league right now, including Tatum, Anthony Edwards, and Luka Doncic, are on the road to reaching that milestone.
