“Please, I’m pleading” Twitter reacts as Reggie Miller begs JA Morant to revive Slam Dunk Contest after ‘Worth-Less’ show in Cleveland
Reggie Miller and Ja Morant
The Dunk Contest at the All-Star in Cleveland was off this time around, it lacked everything which the contest had in the past, Dunk Contest usually has a lot of buzz overall, but this time it was straight up lackluster. Reggie Miller has literally begged Ja Morant to get himself in the Dunk Contest next year.
The most underwhelming Dunk Contest ever!!
The contest started on a good note with Cole Anthony wearing Timberland boots and wearing his father’s jersey. With all that he missed in his first two attempts, and dunking a windmill in his third attempt, does this sounds bad? Jalen Green had a worse night than Anthony. The rookie had to wait till his 9th attempt to get his first dunk, and Shaquille O’Neal was not at all impressed, he has seen Vince Carter dunk in the 2000 edition and his reaction was not the same as the one this time.
Obi Toppin won the Dunk Contest after an underwhelming performance overall by the contestants, Obi Toppin missed his last attempt in which he was trying to pull off Carter’s elbow hang, that’s how things were this time around in a nutshell.

Reggie Miller wants Ja Morant to enter the dunk contest next year
Ja Morant had a great NBA All-Star game for Team Durant, Trae Young gave Morant an alley-oop only for him to perform a crazy reverse, and Reggie Miller was sold and wants him to enter the contest in 2023. Reggie Miller talked to Ja Morant in the third quarter, and Morant’s reverse dunk was being broadcasted, Reggie Miller begged Ja Morant to enter the contest next year, to which the Grizzlies Superstar didn’t give any confirmation of him joining the Dunk Contest next year, but as it seems it is better than straight out rejecting the idea.
After the worthless dunk contest, you can wonder why Reggie Miller was begging the Grizzlies star, it was an utter disappointment for all, the spectators and the participants. The fans have made themselves heard on Twitter to bring back the best dunkers in the contest.
