“Public Enemy #1” Fans outlash at Clippers’ Marcus Morris after being ejected over hard foul of JA Morant

Marcus Morris

JA Morant and Memphis Grizzlies seem to be a force to reckon with since the beginning of the 2021-22 season. Having fought against the likes Lakers, Nuggets, Clippers and Jazz to make their way in the top seeds of Western Conference, the Grizzlies are one of the youngest teams to ever achieve this feat. Now, in their most recent home showdown against the Clippers, the Grizzlies once again dismantled their opponents. But it was Marcus Morris Sr. who had to face the heat of the home crowd.

In the third quarter, when the home team stretched their lead to 22 points, it seemed like their marquee scorer JA Morant was going for a nasty dunk until Marcus Morris decided to pull him down by shoving his face mid-air. Not to forget, Marcus Morris Sr has already faced a lot of backlashes due to his antics on the court previously in the 2021-22 season. But it surely did not stop him from making another hard foul.

Fans criticize Marcus Morris for unnecessary hard foul on JA Morant

Morant would remain in this game and sink both free throws. He would end up having another spectacular game for Memphis. Morant finished with 30 points on 12 for 19 shooting. He added seven rebounds and five assists in the 135-109 blowout victory. It was the Grizzlies third straight win and the sixth in their last seven games. Memphis improved to 38-18 on the season, firmly in third place in the Western Conference.

Take a look at how fans reacted on the same-

With this loss the, the Clippers have fallen 27-29, they are only one win ahead of city rivals Lakers, who too have lost their latest game against the Eastern Conference giants Milwaukee Bucks. However, if the season ended today, they would lock horns against the Lakers in the play-in tournament. That being said, where will the Clippers end after the regular season? Will they make it into the playoffs? Or has Paul George and Kawhi Leonard’s absence haunted them enough?
