It was, however, history in the making for the San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich who has now tied the NBA All-Time regular-season wins as a coach and is one win shy away from making his name as the chart-topper.
Gregg Popovich’s Spurs on another rebuild
San Antonio Spurs have been stuck once again in a rebuild once again. This season the fans have to swallow a bitter pill, due to the team’s successive loss since past seasons. After they lost DeMar DeRozan to the Chicago Bulls and Derrick White, the minutes have been passed on to the young energetic players of Spurs, for another rebuild.
Dejounte Murray is the only player from the San Antonio Spurs to have made it to the NBA All-Stars and was selected by team LeBron, this was the first time in his career where he has been featured in the All-Stars. It is highly evident that Gregg Popovich will be looking to build a team around Dejounte Murray as the Point Guard. With many other young prospects on the bench such as Jakob Poeltl, Keldon Johnson, and Devin Vassell, the future looks bright for the Spurs. With the current situation with the Spurs, they have a chance to make it to the Play-in tournament.

Gregg Popovich Ties the Record
The San Antonio Spurs Head coach and president Gregg Popovich has tied Don Nelson for the most wins in the NBA regular season with 1,335 career wins as a coach, after the Spurs defeated the Lakers 117-110. Pop is in his 26th season with the Spurs, the Spurs came into the match with 4 successive losses, and it looked like a shaky closing quarter from the Spurs as they defeated the Lakers who were without LeBron James and Anthony Davis. His Star player Dejounte Murray was significant in the proceedings, with 26 points, 8 assists, and 10 rebounds after playing 38 minutes for the Spurs. Talen Horton Tucker was the highest scorer for the Lakers with 18 points on the night.
Gregg Popovich has 5 NBA titles and is due to be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame after coaching Spurs Legends, such as David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker. The Spurs are not the team it once used to be during the prime years of David Robinson. This season the Spurs are 25-40 and are in the 12th position in the Western Conference.
