The Toronto Raptors seemed out of hope after losing two of the most important players on their roster. They had a great run during the 2019 NBA finals beating the defending champions Golden State Warriors. Soon after their victory, Kawhi Leonard had announced he would be signing with another team and this season Kyle Lowry had also left the team for a new venture. Last year, they had missed the playoffs after a very underwhelming season.

Despite all the doubt over their existing roster, they are currently 7th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 37 wins and 30 losses. The team has won their last three games beating the best group around in the mix. Under the leadership of Pascal Siakam, the team averages 108.8 points, 45 rebounds, and 21.9 assists this season. They have collectively shot well averaging 44.3% from the field and 35.4% from three this year.

Another big contributor to the offense of the team is Rookie Scottie Barnes who has been putting up excellent numbers for the Raptors. The 20-year old rookie was acquired by the Raptors in the most recent draft that took place. Barnes is not necessarily a primary option on his team which is what makes him even more special this his teammates.

Against the Denver Nuggets, Barnes went on fire carrying putting up 25 points with 10 assists, 8 rebounds, two steals, and one block. He shot 55% from the field and 50% from the three-point range. He has been averaging 15.2 points with 3.3 assists and 7.6 rebounds shooting 49% from the field, 31.3% from three, and 73.3% from the line. The player has been a consistent shooter from deep.

The young rookie had an exceptional game last night which helped the Raptors dominate the Nuggets. He became the second Raptors rookie to have achieved such a stat line since Damon Stoudamire from the 1995-96 season. Thus, also increasing the odds for Raptors at Caesars Sportsbook USA. Barnes has not increased his chances of winning the Rookie of the Year Award over talent let Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley.

Barnes serves as a secondary playmaker and has played exceptionally well since the start of the season. He is a very versatile player when it comes to offensive plays. The player has good size to his body which adds well to their aggressiveness. After witnessing his capabilities, it seems that Barnes’ potential can really hit it ceiling if given a higher role.
