“Seems wrong to me” JJ Redick fires stern message to Patrick Beverley, Timberwolves haters

Patrick Beverley
When Minnesota Timberwolves locked horns against the Los Angeles Clippers in the play-in contest, many expected Paul George and Reggie Jackson to lead the way and secure a ticket for the playoffs. But indeed, it was Patrick Beverley’s Timberwolves who came from behind to outscore the Clippers 30-21 in the last quarter, ensuring a 5-point victory. After which the celebrations were too excessive.
While Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley were the first ones to clown the Timberwolves for the same, JJ Redick has come out to defend the same party. With Karl Anthony Towns ruling himself out of the contest very early, with only 11 points, it seemed like the young squad of Timberwolves needed to give their 100 percent until the last minute, to secure the victory.

JJ Redick’s message to Patrick Beverley’s haters

JJ Redick sent out that message in a tweet following the game. And he has a point. NCAA teams and their fans tend to go wild following any win towards the end of the season. Redick believes that the Minnesota Timberwolves players should have the freedom to enjoy their wins as well.

“Why do we celebrate NCAA tourney teams winning a one and done scenario but gonna mock NBA players and their fans for doing the same…seems wrong to me.”
Whether you love or hate him, there is no denying that Patrick Beverley has brought much-needed energy and tenacity to the Minnesota Timberwolves. It is arguable that they may not be where they are without him.

That being said, the Minnesota Timberwolves are now up against one of the favorites to become the conference champions, Memphis Grizzlies led by Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr and Desmond Bane. Although the team is filled with unexperienced players, yet their energy, passion and endurance have hampered the flow of star-studded teams. Who among Wolves or Grizzlies will draw first blood? Remains to be seen as the 2021-22 postseason festivity continues.
