Sixers Coach Doc Rivers fires back at Devin Booker critics with bold MVP take
Devin Booker vs Philadelphia 76ers
Over the past few weeks, Devin Booker’s name has been alarming in every NBA fanatic’s mind for 2021-22 NBA MVP validation. With Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic being two of the front runners for the same accolade, the 25-year-old has caused havoc in the league, making sure Phoenix Suns stamp their authority as the best team of the season. A scenario which took place for the first time in the franchise’s history.
Which has surely caused Philadelphia 76ers’ Doc Rivers to heap praise onto Devin Booker and perhaps even taking shots at some of his critics. Rivers went onto state that fanatics all over the world should acknowledge the elite scoring prowess of the Suns guard and attach the respect against his name, something he truly deserves.

Did Doc Rivers joins the Devin Booker-MVP hype train?
Speaking on Sunday before the top seeded clash wherein Philadelphia 76ers took on the Phoenix Suns, Rivers chimed in on Booker’s MVP case–which has been a major talking point in recent days as other NBA players campaign for the Phoenix superstar. The veteran head coach emphasized that there is no doubt Book should be in the MVP conversation, and those who say otherwise are simply crazy and do not know basketball.
“He clearly is. Anybody who says he’s not is just absolutely insane,” Rivers said, per Dana Scott of AZ Central.
That being said, Brooklyn star Kyrie Irving recently crowned Kendall Jenner’s boyfriend, Devin Booker as the season’s real MVP, which certainly came as a shocker since he’s teammates with Kevin Durant. Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant then followed suit, questioning a tweet that listed the top MVP candidates.
Will Booker be able to significantly turn the MVP odds in his favor, now that he has got the hype train running? Remains to be seen. But the primary goal of the 25-year-old will be to avenge the heart-wrecking defeat from last season in the NBA Finals. Will the Suns be able to stamp their authority in the post season as well? Surely, all eyes will be on the case same.
