“Stay away from my brother” Nikola Jokic rushes in to protect Aaron Gordon from Montrezl Harrell

Nikola Jokic was on fire against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night, he yet again dominated the paint area with good passes, extraordinary dunks, and easy layups. In response to Jokic’s performance, the Hornets were fighting back, where LaMelo Ball still tried his best to bring the team on lead with his 22 points, four three-pointers made, and 11 assists but it didn’t seem enough as they lost the game by 109-113.

Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic became the main reason for the Nuggets’ stunning performance against the Hornets as he scored 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 11 assists and led the team in scoring with his 19^th triple-double of the season. With him, the next big contributor to this victory was Aaron Gordon who brought the initial lead for the team with his 21 points in play, out of which 17 points were scored in the first quarter. The game was intense between Hornets and Nuggets, so it was obvious that some physical argument took place, where we might have seen Nikola Jokic and Markieff Morris episode part 2.

Nikola Jokic backs Aaron Gordon when he got in a scuffle with Hornets Forward Montrezl Harrell

The game was already in its third phase and only four minutes were remaining before the end of the quarter, at the same time the scuffle between Aaron Gordon and Hornets’ Montrezl Harrell started and turned into a huge mess. Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic came to back his teammate, Gordon, where everyone thought that we might see episode two of star centers’ fight but that didn’t happen Jokic interfered just to stop the scuffle between these two.

Here’s what exactly happened, the argument between Gordon and Harrell started when the Hornets forward tried to disrespect his teammate by stepping over Austin Rivers- who was on the ground after getting a hit on his face while grabbing the rebound. After disrespecting Rivers, Harrell even shoved Gordon with one arm and in retaliation, even the Nuggets star did the same thing. When things were getting physical teammates from both sides separated them.

With a long delay in between the game, the fight was reviewed by the referee and they ejected Harrell who got two technical fouls from the game. Meanwhile, Gordon received one technical foul and Rivers played the whole game with pain in his head.
