During NBA games, fans love watching their favorite players battle it out on the court as they work hard to find a spot in the final. The love and support they show their respective teams reach beyond the game. Basketball fans are one of the most loyal fans out there who are willing to go through thick and thin until their teams reach the top. And judging by the sheer intensity the sport brings, there is no doubt why fans are the way they are.

However, just as much as the fans support their beloved teams, players also go the distance by playing at the highest level every night. Many players have openly expressed how important fans are to the game and why their presence means everything to them. A wholesome moment shared between Patrick Beverley and a LA Clippers fan could be a perfect example of the relationship.

During the LA Clippers vs Houston Rockets game, Patrick Beverley recorded an assist in a matchup he was not even part of. A fan was selected to participate in an activity that required to roll a ball into a drum labeled with cash prizes. When it seemed like the ball was headed away from the top prize, Beverley grabbed it and threw it into the drum with the highest amount.

We would have least expected Patrick Beverley to be present at this particular game especially because of his history with both teams. Before playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Beverley played from the Rockets from 2012-16 where he averaged 9.06 points per game and was traded to the Clippers in a package that brought Chris Paul to Houston.

After four seasons, he was traded once again from LA to the Memphis Grizzlies who swapped him nine days later to the Timberwolves for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez. The point guard signed a one-year $13 million dollar extension with Minnesota. It was indeed surprising to see the player supporting his former team while repping his former teammate Ivica Zubac’s jersey.

The Clippers copped a victory over the Rockets in a 31 point blowout. Marcus Morris lead the team with 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists followed by a combined 45 points by Terance Mann and Luke Kennard. The Rockets were very underwhelming on defense allowing the Clippers to find easier looks to score the ball.
