“Straight from the Looney Squad”: Fans react to Paul Reed blowing up a wide-open dunk in Sixers vs Thunder showdown

Paul Reed
Paul Reed made it to “Shaqtin A Fool” a segment of fool-like plays as he missed a wide-open dunk against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Recently the Philadelphia 76ers hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder at Wells Fargo Center and balled them out as the Sixers dominated their way to win it all. After the first closely contested and toe to toe quarter, the Philadelphia 76ers taking the charge got their hands on the lead and eventually won the game. The final box score stands at 100-87.
Paul Reed was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2020 National Basketball Association’s Draft as 58th overall. With the Ben Simmons saga ending and the Philadelphia 76ers exchanging Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, Ben Simmons and some future first-round picks for James Harden they lost some size on the team. As a result, this led Paul Reed in the game for thirteen good minutes where he got 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks while playing some good defense.

This was Paul’s best game so far this season as his stats improved a lot by time. But a confusing play of his where he blew up an open wide dunk and layup at the same time has fans go crazy on social media as most find it funny. Paul himself was confused with his play as he just messed it on his way up the rim.

Twitter reacts to Paul Reed blowing a wide-open dunk

With 8 minutes and 45 seconds left for the second quarter to end, Paul Reed stole the ball in an inbound play by Oklahoma City Thunder and straight away ran to the rim to fetch some points by flushing it. But his bounce didn’t look enough to flush it like LeBron James so he changed his mind to lay it up but his back facing the rim and no vision made it harder than usual which resulted in a miss with a foul being called. Paul after the play looked embarrassed as he was smiling with his teammates knowing he just messed up the easy play.
The video clip of the play by Reed stands viral on the internet as many pages are sharing the clip. Fans are amazed by the play as some compare him to LeBron James while criticizing him and some post their funny and crazy reactions to it.
