It is common knowledge that the NBA players are big, passionate football fans, just like almost everyone in America. Phoenix Suns’ Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson are even willing to go so far as to feud with each other over their NFL Teams. That is exactly what they did in a recent post-game press conference after their tenacious showdown with the San Antonio Spurs.

Just like in every family, it is not rare to see NBA players with a light-hearted beef with their colleagues over their Football loyalties and devotion. And, February means Super Bowl season and the NFL champion to be crowned. Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson have their favorite teams as Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals respectively. And, it is these two teams that will go head-to-head in the Super Bowl for the coveted Vincent Lombardi Trophy.

Bridges have been a devoted Los Angeles Rams fan for years now. He even attended their last Super bowl in 2019. Cam Johnson, on the other hand, has had his loyalties towards the Cincinnati Bengals since his childhood, even though he hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As for the rest of the Phoenix Suns, Chris Paul has been very vocal regarding his support for the Bengals, even demanding a jersey of Bengals’ Wide Receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Mikal Bridges when asked about their teams facing each other in the Super Bowl, said – “We’re not going to like each other”. Cam Johnson added to the reply saying – “Right now, it’s [we are] civil” The Super Bowl is set to take place on February 13th at the Rams’ home SoFi stadium in Los Angeles, California. Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J Blige will all grace the Super Bowl Half Time show together with their performances.

Mikal Bridges’ Rams are eyeing their 4th NFL Championship after having previously won in 1945, 1951, and 1999. Johnson’s Cincinnati Bengals, on the other hand, are yet to win a Super Bowl despite having several successful runs and potential chances. The Bengals have, however, won two conference championships and hence earned two Super Bowl appearances in 1981 and 1988. They fell to Joe Montana’s San Francisco 49ers both of these times.
