Nikola Jokic is certainly one of the funniest guys in the league. Over the years, he has made media and fans laugh with him. It was no different on the championship night when Denver Nuggets and Jokic both won their maiden championship. When a reporter asked Jokic if he had received any text message from his native tennis superstar Novak Djokovic he had a hilarious reaction after checking his phone.
In the post-game interview, while the Joker was answering questions, a reporter asked if his native country friend has sent him a congratulatory message. Joker replied, “I am gonna see if he has texted me, you know.” After checking his phone for the 2023 French Open champion’s message, the Denver Nuggets star seemed frustrated.
He was looking for Djokovic’s message, but after finding out that he had so many messages on his phone, he reacted in frustration, “Oh f**k.” This funny reaction from the Joker left the journalists laughing for a long time.
When the reporter asked, how many messages the 2023 NBA Finals MVP had on his phone, the former MVP said, “A lot,” Jokic just won Nuggets’ first NBA championship, and he was the finals MVP. It is natural that he deserves all the praise in this world and his inbox would be full. Perhaps, it is time now that he pays for the extra storage.

What a year it has been for sports in Serbia this year. Novak Djokovic won another Grand Slam title and his 23rd, while his native country friend Nikola Jokic won his first NBA championship. Before game five of the 2023 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and the Nuggets, a reporter asked the Joker if he had received any message from the 36-year-old tennis star. He was excited to let them know that he had received a text message from Djokovic. “He texted me, for real. He texted me, for real, he didn’t lie,” Jokić said in excitement.
Joker is not one for accolades. He lives a simple life in his home country. He barely has a love for fame. Despite being at the biggest stage of his career, he remains down to earth. He also heaped praise for Djokovic and spoke like a true fanboy. “He’s amazing of course in his sport and he’s making history. He’s probably going to go down as one of the best ever, if not the best ever,” he added.
