“That’s a failure” Chris Broussard demolishes LeBron James for being capable of being the GOAT
Chris Broussard on Michael Jordan and LeBron James
The debate of who is the greatest of all time may never see it ends at this pace. Yes, LeBron James has had an outstanding career so far putting up prime numbers as he slowly approaches his 20th year in the league. Players at his age do not last for long during games and deteriorate over time. But he is still heavily criticized about his legacy and decisions he has made over the years.
The Los Angeles Lakers star has been a very successful player ever since the get-go. A couple of times during his career he has made decisions to work around the notion of winning a championship. His move to the Miami Heat had the entire world put him down even after winning two out of the four finals he participated in. But calling yourself the greatest of time and failing to win every title shot does not sit right with some people.
Chris Broussard says LeBron James could have won all four opportunities while playing for the Miami Heat
While he was on the First Things First show with Nick Wright, Jenna Wolfe, and Kevin Wildes, Chris Broussard had explained about the time he believed LeBron James was going to become the GOAT by the end of his career and why his thinking around the King changed.
“He was in Miami for four years and I remember I was on sports center on the other network the night he decided he was going to Miami. I was one of the few in the national media who was not killing LeBron. I was supporting him in his decision,” said Broussard.
He continues to say, “If you had told me the Heat are going to win two of the next four championships. With LeBron, Wade, and Chris Bosh, I would have been like what!? That’s a failure. They’re winning at least three if not all four. That would have gone a long way to aid LeBron’s argument and then going forward winning more championships other than losing more finals series.”
According to Broussard, the reason why he believes LeBron would never be the GOAT is that he failed to utilize the best assets around him to dominate every scenario. This is very similar to the Lakers’ current situation with Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, Carmelo Anthony, and the others.
Chris Broussard closes the debate between LeBron James and Michael Jordan
“Jordan lost but he never melted down, he never really the reason they lost where you said why? What happened to Mike? He just wasn’t himself. It is going to take more than even the great LeBron James did, for someone to come along and say he was better than Jordan.”
“Whether you look at the shoes, the 6-0, the iconic shot against Utah, whatever you want to look at, Michael Jordan has reached that level where its just like you got to something astronomical to surpass Michael Jordan,” said Broussard on why LeBron failing to win under pressure has brought him significantly lower than the former Chicago Bulls legend.
