LeBron James is surely one of those sports personnel who does not know how to hold back when it comes to matters which involve social justice, discrimination or matters which affect the country. Sometimes, for which he has been brutally criticized. And the leader of that particular pact is none other than UFC fighter Colby Covington who surely doesn’t like one-bit of the 37-year-old hoop star.

Given that the rivalry of LeBron James and Colby Covington has been known to the world, the latter decided to bring up his ‘favorite’ during the ‘Full Send Podcast’. While Covington was invited to discuss his future plans after beating Jorge Masvidal earlier this month, he rather decided to speak about taking a knee for the first respondents – midway through his battle.

Colby Covington lashes out at LeBron James

Amid the praise Colby dished out to the police force and first respondents, Covington snuck in a remark about the four-time NBA champion, “That’s why I laugh at LeBron James, you know. Like, dude, you’re talking s*** – you’re putting targets on police officers’ backs. But then you’re using police security every day.” 

Covington’s comments on LeBron James are rooting out of James’ previous remarks on police brutality that has occurred on multiple occasions since 2020. In April 2021, James was outspoken about the killing of a 16-year-old teenager – tweeting the words “You’re next #accountability,” calling out the police officer involved. He subsequently deleted the tweet, claiming it was used to create more hate.

However, this is not the first time in the year Covington has blasted LeBron James. Before his recent fight, Covington called the Los Angeles Lakers superstar a spineless coward again, during his prematch interviews. 

He stated, “I wanna send a big thank you to all the real heroes and celebrities in this country. Not that woke, spineless coward like LeBron James. I’m talking about our heroes – law enforcement, military, our first respondents – God bless you all.” 

With LeBron yet to comment on either of the situation, hopefully the beef and rivalry between Covington and LeBron could take a more valid turn.
