“The ankle issue apparently became even more important than the scoring title” Skip Bayless lashed out at LeBron James again for sitting out of the remaining games

“The ankle issue apparently became even more important than the scoring title” Skip Bayless lashed out at LeBron James again for sitting out of the remaining games

LeBron James and Skip Bayless

Sports columnist Skip Bayless waste no time targeting LeBron James, as he sits out of a game against OKC possibly costing him the Scoring title.

Los Angeles Lakers 2021-22 season ended disastrously. From Championship contender team to finishing 11th in the Western conference had no other word to describe. Everyone on the team, including the coaching staff is accountable for the horrific ending, except one stand-out player – LeBron James. But American Sports columnist, Skip Bayless still has something to complain about LeBron.

Known for his harsh and straightforward criticism, Skip criticizes Laker Star for sitting out of the remainder of the season. According to Bayless, LeBron should compete and play for the Scoring title, which is up for grab. Skip Tweeted, “The ankle issue apparently became even more important than the scoring title.”

2022 Scoring Leaders from Left, Joel Embiid, LeBron James, and Giannis Antetokounmpo

The scoring title is very close this season as many players have high-scoring games for their respective teams. As per current leaders standing in the league, Philadelphia 76ers’ star center Joel Embiid is leading with 30.4 points per game average. He has scored 2037 points in 67 games played. Next to him is reigning Finals’ MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo with 29.9 points per game.

They both still have 1 more game to go in the regular season, but might take a rest considering their qualification and standings won’t be affected by the outcome of the games.

Luca Doncic, DeMar DeRozan, and Trae Young complete the top 5 list this season. All players have just 1-2 games left to play, and already have a place booked in the postseason – except for Trae Young and Atlanta Hawks, who will be in a “play-in” situation.

Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James missing out on the NBA scoring title

James, at age of 37 is playing the highest level of ball game. He is averaging 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game in 56 games played. The incredible stats put on by the King are not only the best in his team but 2nd best in his entire 19 years career.

If we go by numbers, LeBron would stand 2nd in the list with just 0.1 points differential between him and Embiid. But as per NBA rule, a player eligible for any “League leader” category has to play at least 58 games. James missed out on the “required number” of games, his points tally won’t be considered for the title.

Skip Bayless is pointing to this issue only as if James plays the remaining 2 games for the team, he would at least be considered for the Scoring title and might even win it given his form at the moment.

LeBron James sprained his ankle on 27th March in the game against the Pelicans. He already missed 5 out of 6 games for the Lakers. With the season outcome already clear, Los Angeles Lakers decided to give their Megastar some rest, as they announced his unavailability for Friday’s game against Oklahoma City Thunders.
