“The Lay School”: Twitter reacts to Ja Morant showing nerves of steel by sending Grizzlies vs 76ers to OT despite heavy contact

Ja Morant in action for the Memphis Grizzlies

Ja Morant has been the biggest name in the league the past months for his heroics as he leads the Memphis Grizzlies to register many wins. The young guard was the most explosive player so far this season. Since he exploded straight into the All-Star game as a western conference starter. Ja has also made it to the MVP conversations since the last play-offs where he joined elite clubs and destroyed teams with a good individual performance and the domination still continues ranking his as one of the best in the league.

Recently, the Philadelphia 76ers hosted the Memphis Grizzlies at Well Fargo Center. The match-up was supposed to be the decider regarding the better star between Joel Embiid and Ja Morant. But the medical staff of Philadelphia 76ers had a rest day prearranged for the big guy which resulted in his absence. Missing on Joel and being shorthanded offensively as Ben Simmons’ saga still continues. The Philadelphia 76ers still managed to win the game in overtime as Tobias Harris (31 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds) and Tyrese Maxey (33 points, 8 assists and 3 rebounds) ran the offense for the team.

The game was closely contested and head to head during the fourth quarter and especially the final minute. As with seconds remaining and being down by two Ja Morant clutching a layup sent it to the overtime securing one more chance for the team. With 14.9 seconds left for the regulation to end Ja Morant was controlling the ball and with 7.4 seconds was fouled by Andre Drummond as he engaged in hard contact with the big. Despite the fall and contact Ja clutched the layup and tied the game but missed the free throw to get the lead and win it all. Seth Curry also got a chance to send the Grizzlies back and close it on them but his baseline jumper ringed the rim and sent it to overtime.
