The LeBron James Takeover: Fans react as Lids list out for top NBA player jerseys so far in the 21-22 season.
LeBron James
LeBron James is the icon of the sport of basketball in this generation, and that is testified in various ways as James has different ways of taking over the sport of basketball even in his 19th year in the NBA. He hasn’t stopped playing with the dominance that he had in his peak as he has the same desire, same dedication and in fact also gives out the same results very often and the same also applies to everything else that goes down in this generation of basketball. LeBron James who is arguably considered the GOAT or at least the best basketball player of this generation doesn’t seem to be stopping his dominance in any way.
Lids, the sportswear brand recently released a descriptive map of the United States of America which represented the highest selling jerseys of players in every American state, and not to anyone’s surprise, LeBron James topped that chart with his name being shown leading in most of the states.
Though the name LeBron James might not have been a surprise in any way, there were certain names which were bound to create a buzz for being unexpectedly present in the map which was heavily yellow for the Lakers’ LeBron James.
Let us take a deeper dive into these stats and have a look at the map presented by Lids which represents the highest selling jerseys of players in each state in the USA.
A Yellow heavy map shows total domination by LeBron James in sales of jerseys in every state
It is no doubt that LeBron James is the icon of basketball in this generation but now it is also very clear that James sells as much as he plays in the league, and that happens with complete domination, taking over the entire country. LeBron James was the leader in the map released by Lids which showed the highest selling player jerseys in each state which even contained big names like Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry and the legend Michael Jordan.

LeBron James is dominant on and off the court which is shown in the number of jersey sales he has had as he leads in almost all the states in United States of America and has made the number 6 from the Lakers as famous as the number 23. The fan apparel company Lids reiterated through their map that LeBron James remains the icon of basketball in this generation even if the Lakers struggle to find any form and might not even qualify for the playoffs this time.
James has managed to keep the Lakers’ boat afloat in the league despite all other players having inconsistent performances where they throw nothing but bricks and do nothing in the name of supporting their teammate and the marquee player LeBron James.
Let us now take a look at the other names in the map of players leading jersey sales in the all the states.
Unexpected Names and Stats are the remainder of Highest Selling Jersey stats map
Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors stood right after the Lakers’ LeBron James as he came second in the list of most selling player jerseys in the USA. The baby-faced assassin who is also referred to as the best shooter in the history of this sport took over in the NBA Weekend as he made a record breaking performance, putting everyone on notice and in awe of his shooting skills.
Rest of the names on the list included the Portland Trailblazers’ Damian Lillard, the Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Nets’ Kevin Durant, the Mavericks’ Luka Doncic, the Celtics’ Jayson Tatum, the Grizzlies’ JA Morant, the Hawks’ Trae Young, the Warriors’ Klay Thompson and even the GOAT Michael Jordan who lead a few states accompanied by the Mamba Kobe Bryant. These are the legends who will never be forgotten nor will people ever stop respecting them for all that they’ve done for the sport.
Weird names that popped up in the chart unexpectedly were the names of Yao Ming who led the jersey sales in Montana which is quite far away from Houston, the team for which he played, and Bibby Green who led the way for jersey sales in Alabama, even though Green played for 6 teams throughout his NBA Career which ended in the year 2011, making it unclear as to why people in Alabama purchased his jersey in such a huge amount.
Let us now take a look at the reactions people on twitter had to this map posted by the Lids.
