After CJ McCollum is traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, Damian Lillard, sends out an emotional message to his brother, with whom he shared 9 years in the Portland Trailblazers, the duo had a lot of love for each other, and it is hard to see them separate.

Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are a match made in heaven, and also one of the most underrated duos in the NBA, with the number of stars in the NBA it is easy to lose track of some underrated player combos. Dame and McCollum are not new to the NBA they have been together in the Portland Trailblazers for almost a decade (9 years to be exact). The Trailblazers have made a deadly duo to be feared in the NBA.
There are many duos who have shined in the NBA but none of them came close to these two, in the 2018-19 season Lillard and McCollum averaged 73.5 points per game for two teammates, their stats are legendary, but they count for nothing if you are not able to perform in the playoffs. However, things were going to change when the two Averaged 80.0 points per game in the playoffs and when they played Denver Nuggets in a seven-game series the two combined to make an average of 77.9 points per game.

Every good thing comes to an end eventually, and so Lillard and McCollum’s duo had to come to an end. The Portland Trailblazers traded CJ McCollum to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, which may seem that the Trailblazers are building for the future. Lillard and McCollum made a deadly duo and punished opponents with clutch performances during their tenure with the Trailblazers. That is what we know on the face of it, that they were deadly on the court, but the two shared a special bond off-court as well. They had a great bond between them in Portland, but they failed to win a championship with the Trailblazers, what’s more, important in their story was they never gave up on the team and stuck together as long as they could.
Damian Lillard took to Instagram and posted a heart-touching message to CJ McCollum, “Grateful for our brotherhood and friendship above all, bra. We knew this day would come but it doesn’t make it any easier. Hurt my heart to know s**t won’t be the same but the love gon always remains C! You know what time it is with me always. All the best going forward, my brother.”
