Shams Charania picks Kobe Bryant as the GOAT
The GOAT discussion in basketball has been going on for the last few decades and will forever be never-ending. Many legendary names pop up during the GOAT debate. But the names that mostly stand out are Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Throughout the years fans have seen NBA experts and analyst giving their take on the debate and picking the GOAT, with Jordan being the name that mostly comes on top for the older generation.
Recently NBA insider Shams Charania was asked about his take on the debate and who he would pick as the greatest player of all time, to which Charania gave a quiet methodical response and tried to dodge the question. Eventually, he picked Kobe Bryant over Michael Jordan as the GOAT in the NBA.
Shams Charania is from the younger generation of the NBA fans and has obviously seen Bryant capture his five championships with the Lakers. He got to experience Bryant’s journey with the Los Angeles Lakers as a rookie to an NBA legend.

While Bryant’s name is not seen as often as Jordan’s in the GOAT debate both stars have given a lot to the game. Many fans even considered Bryant the second coming of Jordan because of their same playing style, especially mentality.

Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA. He was known for his great skills and for carrying the team on his back in clutch situations. Recently Shams Charania talked about Bryant’s impact on his life and the game of basketball.
Charania stated that seeing Bryant play and win five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers had a great impact on him. He found the Mamba Mentality exceptionally powerful and applied it in his daily life. He stated that Bryant’s attitude of always working and improving himself, helped Charania a lot.
Bryant was one of the most loved stars in the NBA. Even after his tragic passing a few years back, NBA fans still follow his lessons and live by the rule of Mamba Mentality.
