NBA Trade Rumor: James Harden to be traded outside his preferred team?
One of the biggest questions everyone is asking in the off-season, is whether or not James Harden will be able to get his way out of Houston Rockets? The Beard has done everything possible to make sure that the Rockets’ management end up trading him. But after Russell Westbrook, the exit doors seem to have been closed by the franchise. Harden even went on to miss the training camp by being busy partying with American Rapper Lil Baby is Vegas.
Harden has already stated his desired destinations being Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. But new reports emerge that the Rockets might end up getting what they want for the superstar financially, which could end up luring Harden to an all-together different destination. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski recently revealed that the Rockets are trying to expand the trade talks for their superstar.
Where could James Harden be traded?
“The Rockets are really expanding their conversations beyond those two preferred destinations of [James] Harden… They are starting to gather more interest in both the Eastern and Western conferences of teams.
“Because Harden has two years left on his deal, who’d be willing perhaps to trade for him without an assurance that he’d stay long term.”
The Rockets begin their NBA season next Wednesday. Woj mentioned that the team wants to get the deal done rather sooner than later.
“One thing for certain, Houston would like to get this done sooner than later… They have a checklist of what they would like in a deal… They have gotta really maximize value and that’s gonna be a really good young player and draft picks at the very least.
“… And they are looking at scenarios, three-team scenarios, where perhaps a particular doesn’t exactly have the player they want, but they can help go get that player in a bigger deal.”
Engaging in a three-team trade scenario would allow the Rockets to be a tad more flexible. They could get a lucrative trade package for their unsettled star before the season even begins.
As many fanatics have suggested, it is better to trade away a star than keeping and spoiling him with the franchise. But it remains to be seen how far will the Rockets stretch this as time is key for this trade. Let’s see whether or not James Harden makes his way out of the Houston Rockets? And even is he does, where would he go to?
