“Best Hawk ever?” Trae Young sets a new franchise record by surpassing Dominique Wilkins

It wasn’t just LeBron James who made history in the Friday’s matchup between Los Angeles Lakers. Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young even had set a new franchise record in the Hawk’s history never done before.

Young had finished the game with scoring about 25 points, 9 rebounds and 14 assists. Still he failed to get a win for his team with 134-118. While Hawks have wished for a win, Young’s performance has given some positives as well as memories to the fans.

Trae Young holds the record for Longest streak of scoring 25+ points

Young broke the record held by Dominique Wilkins with his 17th straight 25-point game. It started last November 22nd, and has made history on match against Lakers. He has achieved something no one in the history of the Atlanta Hawks franchise has ever done.

During this 17 time streak the Hawks guard averaged about 30.1 points, 10.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game which is a pretty great performance.

Only blemish in Young’s solid game against Lakers

Unfortunately for Trae Young, the only blemish in his rock solid gameplay was his nine turnovers against the Lakers. He could be seen having a tough time dealing with the Lakers defense. The only aspect where Young needs to work upon if Hawks want to win more games. However, this didn’t stop people appreciating the milestone which the 23 year old has achieved for himself and his team as well.

Things are currently not so well for Atlanta Hawks as they are currently are at the 12th place in the Eastern Conference. It’s a massive drop from their performance if we compare it with 2020-21, during which they finished at fifth place and made it all the way to the conference finals. However, in an unexpected scenario they could be seen making a playoff push as this team of Atlanta has players who carry a lot of potential to turn things into their favor. Till the time Trae is there we can say there is hope of seeing Hawks bouncing back.
