The Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. went after the 3-point king and stuck to him throughout the game, or let’s say he couldn’t do anything about Steph when he exploded on the scene with 21-points in the last quarter. Stephen Curry after the game appreciated the trash-talk from KPJ and instead of getting fazed the 2-time MVP showed class. Curry said in the post-Match interview about KPJ, “I like his competitiveness… He got a dawg in him.”
With just in his third year in the NBA Kevin Porter Jr. did not back down to challenging Stephen Curry and kept him busy throughout the game, trash-talking him to rile up the 3-point king. However, this was not meant for the Rockets to come out with a win, the trash talks by KPJ just gave Steph Curry a boost to drop 21-points in the last quarter on them, to emerge as a winner.
Stephen Curry in the interview said, “It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last time. I started bringing it to another level. You always have it, but you bring another level of competitiveness when you have fun stuff like that. I take it all as entertainment, but sometimes you need a little boost.” He also likes it when there is trash talk in the game. What Kevin Porter Jr. went and asked him about some pointers, shows that he inspires young players and shows class from his side, KPJ said in the interview, “Being MVP, first unanimous, that’s someone I can learn from. He’s been doing this for so long. People get comfortable with what he’s capable of doing. It’s not really a surprise. But seeing him play like this is definitely something to learn from.”
