Kobe Bryant’s legacy in retrospect
Kobe Bryant was one of kind looking back at his life on and off the court. On the court, the former five-time champ arrived into the league as a promising prospect but was never allowed to prove himself right off the bat.
Eventually, he earned his way to the top winning multiple accolades along the way. He was crowned as the league’s most valuable player in 2008. He ended his career eight years later averaging 25 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game shooting 36.1% from the field.
Off the court, Bryant was a massive supporter of women’s empowerment. He started his foundation dedicating it to his daughter Gianna, whose mission was to help budding athletes and women in sports. Kobe also contributed to, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Make a Wish foundation, and many others.
There is no doubt why the legend was loved by many around the world. His compassion never failed anybody around him and he always wished the best for anybody around him including his successors in the league. His death left a hole in the heart of the league and his shoe may never be filled as he was a different breed altogether. Rest in Peace the Black Mamba.
