To have your idol’s game-worn shoes is already hard enough but Ron Artest has entirely a different story to tell. Artest is a professional basketball player and is currently playing for Cal State Northridge in the Big West Conference.  

Last season he averaged a career-high 4.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 17.8 minutes per game. Before playing for Beverly High School, Ron played for the Palisades. He was recruited by Cal State Northridge back in 2018.

He is the son of former NBA All-Star Metta Sandiford-Artest; a former Lakers player. So, it’s quite evident that Ron must have had the opportunity to meet the late Kobe Bryant. After such one interaction, Ron was gifted the shoes that were worn by Kobe Bryant. And, well he couldn’t be happier.

Ron Artest III tore Kobe Bryant’s Game worn shoes

People would usually never wear the shoes that they receive from their idols rather they keep them as something that’s like a valuable artifact. But for Ron, it meant something different.

Ron Artest III revealed o the TMZ news that when he received Kobe’s game-worn shoes insisted on keeping them protected and sound he used them for playing basketball and torn them.

He recited the story of how he got those pair of shoes. He said,

“One time after a game, I was sitting outside of the locker room and he walked in. A security guard came out and gave me the shoes he has just worn. As soon as I got those shoes, the next day I went to the court and started playing with them and just tore ’em up.”

He further told the reporters when asked about his interaction with Kobe,

“I have seen Kobe a lot like in the practice facilities and the games. But I was always scared to go up and talk to him. So, I never really went to talk to him.”

What more Kobe would have wanted than to inspire a kid to play basketball and just basketball without being affected by any materialism.  Kobe was known for his absolute focus and hard work. If the world would wake up at 6 AM he would be up at 4. He is someone who sets the benchmarks highs for people who want to follow basketball with unbreakable determination and unshakeable focus.

Ron Artest III is supposed to get drafted next year. The 22-year old is all ready and energized for taking another step towards his dream.
