Watch: Twitter hails JA Morant led Grizzlies after displaying just why they are ‘championship favourites’ this season

Ja Morant

The Memphis Grizzlies are nothing short of title contenders this season. Ja Morant and company have a real chance at the 2022 NBA Championship. The Grizzlies currently hold the 3rd best record in the league, being .673 with a 35-17 season record. They will be hoping to pull a 2015 Golden State miracle this season and it looks like they are well poised for that.

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Washington Wizards in a 115-95 blowout fashion at home. Leader of the pack Ja Morant scored 34 points (his 6th consecutive 30-point game) on an efficient 15-27 shooting from the field and 4-8 from downtown. Desmond Bane added 19 points to the scoreboard. Jaren Jackson Jr was superb at the defensive end, who had two blocks for the night. Jackson Jr is one of the few players this season who are averaging 2+ blocks per game.

Washington Wizards who were once the number one seed in the Eastern Conference are now not even in play-in contention. Kyle Kuzma top scored with 30 points. Their frontman Bradley Beal had a forgettable night with just 9 points, going 2-11 from the field. Kentavious Caldwell Pope added 15 points while Spencer Dinwiddie added just 10 points.

The Memphis Grizzlies had some showtime plays in the game. During the 3rd quarter, the Grizzlies were leading 67-47 when Spencer Dinwiddie of the Wizards had the ball and he went to attempt a layup. Desmond Bane came out of nowhere to block the shot.

Jaren Jackosn Jr collected the ball and then passed it on to Ja Morant who was camping on the other end. Morant hammered down a windmill dunk for the easy deuce. Morant and Grizzlies have shown time and again that they might be young but are afraid of no one and no team. The Memphis Grizzlies are certainly playing like they are the best team in the league and are full of confidence. Twitter fans had a blast watching this sequence from the showtime Grizzlies
