Where is Carmelo Anthony now? Know more on how his offensive prowess inspired the NBA

Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony was one of the best players in the league during his prime. Nobody could match his excellence in offense and how he consistently managed to outplay all the top scorers in the league with ease. Some people think he was the best player in the league while he tried to win scoring titles.

During his debut season, after being drafted along with LeBron James and several other NBA greats, Carmelo Anthony was arguably the best out there in terms of pure offensive skill. Some debated that he was much more offensively skilled than James as well. The argument began after the masses were left divided between the two players. LeBron averaged only 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.

Carmelo Anthony on the other hand averaged 21 points and 6.1 rebounds shooting 42.6% from the field. There were certain areas where Bron needed to improve, such as his shooting. Melo already excelled in those areas. Another great skill of Anthony was his ability to create shots.

He shot 44.7% from the field and maintained a good 35.5% from beyond the arc throughout his career. Even though he shot averagely, he was an exceptional rebounder of the ball. He ranks 9th all-time in regular season points. But due to recent changes, LeBron James is now the only active player among the top ten who might just become the all-time leader.

Carmelo Anthony had a couple of good seasons towards the end (possibly) of his career. It is not certain whether he has called quits on the sport, but right now, he remains a free agent. His last season was with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2021-22 Season. He put up decent numbers for a role player averaging 13.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

His stint with the Lakers may have been the closest he could’ve gotten to winning a championship but unfortunately, luck did not favor him. The Portland Trail Blazers gave him a home prior to the Lakers for two seasons where he put up good numbers as well. But now the master is still waiting for an opportunity to get back to the daily grind.
