To remain undefeated at the biggest stage of the championship throughout franchise history has been a feat achieved by only a few NBA teams.

The NBA Finals have been the ultimate decider of the championship crown since the first NBA Finals in 1947. A total of 77 teams have lifted the title till date. Decided in a best of seven games format, the final series is the last showdown between Conference champions on their way to title Glory. But how many teams have not lost in the NBA Finals in the history of the league?

To return with the title every time from an NBA Final is no petty feat. To remain undefeated at the biggest stage of the championship throughout franchise history, has been achieved by very few NBA teams.

Michael Jordan’s stellar record of six championships in six finals is one of his many legendary accomplishments. But to have done so as Finals MVP is another incredible feat entirely. That, however, is Jordan’s record across his 15 seasons in the NBA. But in a franchise’s history, through the ups and downs, it is near impossible to maintain a 100% Finals-win record – and very, very few teams have managed to do so. So, who are the teams that have never lost in the NBA Finals?

Which teams have never lost in the NBA Finals?

Only four teams have recorded a hundred percent win percentage in the NBA Finals to date. The list includes the Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, Baltimore Bullets and Rochester Royals.

Out of the four, only the Chicago Bulls have appeared in more than one NBA Finals series and have never lost. In fact, they have played six NBA Finals series in their franchise history and haven’t lost a single one of them.

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have been in six NBA Finals in their franchise history and won all six titles. They did so in two three-peats in the same decade between 1991 to 1993, and then from 1996 to 1998.

In their first ever Finals series, the Bulls beat the Los Angeles Lakers 1-4 in just five games in 1991. The following season, they beat the Portland Trail Blazers 2-4 in six games to lift the title.

In the 1993 Finals, Chicago Bulls defeated the Phoenix Suns 2-4 in the six-game series, completing their iconic three-peat. So far, having won all three Finals series in franchise history, the Bulls made their next Finals appearance in 1996.

They faced the Seattle SuperSonics in their fourth Finals in franchise history, winning the Championship 2-4 in six games. In the following two seasons, the Bulls beat the Utah Jazz twice in two NBA Finals, lifting their fifth and sixth Championship title.

Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors made their first ever NBA Finals in 2018-2019 against the Golden State Warriors. The Dubs were the defending Champions at the time and had won the last two Championships on the trot, eyeing a three-peat.

Going as the underdogs, the Raptors beat the Warriors 2-4 in six games, lifting their first ever championship in their first-ever NBA Finals. Their victory denied the Dubs dynasty a three-peat of titles, for the second time in the same decade.

Rochester Royals

The Rochester Royals made their only NBA Finals way back in the 1950-51 season. They beat the New York Knicks 4-3 in seven games.

It was their only NBA title in franchise history. They never made another Finals.

Baltimore Bullets

Back in the 1947-48 NBA Finals, it was the Baltimore Bullets who made it to one of the first finals hosted by the league.

They faced the Philadelphia Warriors in a six-game series, winning 4-2 to lift one of the first NBA titles in league history. But needless to say, no other franchise has been successful in replicating the dominance of Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls when it comes to Finals win percentage.
