Brady is idolized by many people due to his work ethic and his obsession with football. During his high school days in San Mateo, California, Brady used to be a multi-sport athlete. He played baseball, basketball, and football in his early high school days.

During an interview with Boston.com in 2010, Brady revealed his favorite athlete that is not playing in the NFL is the late great Kobe Bryant. Kobe played in NBA for 20 years and won five Championship rings with the LA Lakers. Besides, he is an 18-time NBA All-Star, 15-time All-NBA player, and has won the finals MVP 2 times. He was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2020.

As previously mentioned, both Kobe Bryant and the Patriots legend Tom Brady are highly competitive. That’s why they were able to win 12 combined Championship rings. During an interview in 2012, Brady talked about why he admired Bryant a lot.

“I actually saw Kobe Bryant for the first time when they went to the Finals in Boston. It’s someone that I really look up to and admire, because of his competitiveness,” Brady said according to Mass Live.com. “I’d never met him before. You always watch other athletes and how they play the game and what makes them successful. You see them play the game the way you think it needs to be played, like Derek Jeter. I love the way that he plays the game. You see some of those great caliber athletes. You look up to them and admire what it takes day in and day out to be a great player.”

Nevertheless, the Patriots icon Brady recently retired from football after a successful career that spanned over two decades. He leaves the game with 7 Super Bowl rings, 5 Super Bowl MVPs, 3 league MVPs, and with many more individual and team achievements.
