Brady is idolized by many people due to his work ethic and his obsession with football. During his high school days in San Mateo, California, Brady used to be a multi-sport athlete. He played baseball, basketball, and football in his early high school days.
Growing up Tom Brady used to be LA Lakers and Boston Celtics fan. A lot of people would be confused by how a person can be a fan of those both teams but in Brady’s own words, “That’s who was good at the time. Bird and Magic.“

Tom Brady’s favorite NBA player is Kobe Bryant
The 15-time Pro Bowler Tom Brady is well-known for his dedication, hard work, and his obsession with the sport he loves. It is no wonder, he is drawn to an athlete with similar qualities.
During an interview with Boston.com in 2010, Brady revealed his favorite athlete that is not playing in the NFL is the late great Kobe Bryant. Kobe played in NBA for 20 years and won five Championship rings with the LA Lakers. Besides, he is an 18-time NBA All-Star, 15-time All-NBA player, and has won the finals MVP 2 times. He was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2020.
Tom Brady admires Kobe Bryant competitiveness
As previously mentioned, both Kobe Bryant and the Patriots legend Tom Brady are highly competitive. That’s why they were able to win 12 combined Championship rings. During an interview in 2012, Brady talked about why he admired Bryant a lot.
“I actually saw Kobe Bryant for the first time when they went to the Finals in Boston. It’s someone that I really look up to and admire, because of his competitiveness,” Brady said according to Mass Live.com. “I’d never met him before. You always watch other athletes and how they play the game and what makes them successful. You see them play the game the way you think it needs to be played, like Derek Jeter. I love the way that he plays the game. You see some of those great caliber athletes. You look up to them and admire what it takes day in and day out to be a great player.”
Nevertheless, the Patriots icon Brady recently retired from football after a successful career that spanned over two decades. He leaves the game with 7 Super Bowl rings, 5 Super Bowl MVPs, 3 league MVPs, and with many more individual and team achievements.
