Dennis Schroder became the biggest troll of the NBA fans when he rejected the 4 years, $84 million extensions deal from LA Lakers. The German basketball player put a bet on himself and tried to prove his worth more than the deal with the Lakers which he and his agent failed miserably and later Schroder have to sign a $6 million deal with Boston Celtics.
Schroder wrote on Instagram, “I’m proud to announce that for the 2021-22 season I’ll be playing for the Boston Celtics! This is one of the best franchises in NBA history and it will be an honor to put on the green and white and do what I love! I’m going out there every night and leaving it all on the floor for the city!! Who’s ready?”

Charles Barkley and Shaq digs at Dennis Schroder’s decision
However, it might be a proud moment for Dennis Schroder but it became a joke in the NBA universe when former Lakers starting point guard took this decision to join the Celtics with a cheaper contract. His demand for a great deal wasn’t excepted by the LA Lakers and the team decided to bring new point guard Russell Westbrook. Later, Schroder even claimed he was never offered any such contract from the Purple and Golds.
No matter what the reason Schroder gave, he is still criticized for such a bewildering decision to join Celtics. Talking about this on a recent episode of TNT Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley took a dig on him and his agent by making jokes on his idiotic decision and offered him the advice to fire his agent.

Shaq O’Neal said, “There’s an old saying in the hood. It’s not about the money, it’s about the damn money, Dennis Schroder, whoever your agent is, you gotta fire him.”
Even Hall of Fame Charles Barkley made fun of his missed opportunity and he said, “I don’t care if it’s his mom, his dad, his brother, he’s gotta fire his agent. If you turn down $84 million against $6 million, uh…”
Dennis Schroder’s idea to land a bigger deal failed and it has been printed in the minds of NBA fans because of which they keep reminding him of the deal and now Westbrook is getting $44 million over his $6 million year deal with the Boston Celtics. It feels extremely bad that the NBA universe is will take a few years to forget about it, until then he has to bear all those criticizing comments.
