Will LeBron James finish his record-breaking career as a Laker?
In the most recent episode of his podcast The Lowe Post, ESPN’s Zach Lowe discussed the 38-year-old LA Superstar Lebron James’s desire to be traded away with the Worldwide Leader’s Lakers beat reporter, Dave McMenamin.
“I think if he had his druthers, he plays on the Lakers until he hangs it up,” McMenamin remarked,” Bronny James is on the Lakers. And the Lakers are back in the playoffs every single season. I think that would be enough. It’s not championship or bust. It’s competitive basketball or bust. I think that’s his breaking point.”
Lebron James, a four-time NBA champion, once spoke about his passion for Los Angeles and the Lakers organization while promoting his new film, “Space Jam: A New Legacy” during an appearance on the “Smartless” podcast, “I truly hope that I can finish my career with the Lakers,” James said.
“However many years that is, if it’s four, five, six, whatever, seven. I hope I can continue to play the game. I love being in L.A., and my family loves being in L.A. Being with a historical franchise like the Lakers is something… It’s like me being in “Space Jam” — I never thought it would be possible. You think about Kareem, Magic, Wilt, Jerry West and Elgin Baylor, Kobe, Shaq, and all of them. The whole list goes on.”
The Lakers’ 2022–23 season got off to a poor start as they went 0–5 and 2–10. To make matters worse, it seemed that the organization was plagued with chemistry problems. Thankfully, streaks of victories have allowed L.A. to move up the standings. It is currently 12th in the West with a record of 19-22, which is unquestionably an improvement from when the team was at the bottom of the league.
Lebron James is likely to stay with the Lakers until retirement
LeBron James playing for some low-level team without a championship-caliber roster is difficult to conceive. He might not have had much of a choice, though, to remain put and finish his career with the Lakers alone in the later years of his career.
the business ventures of the King are in Los Angeles, including SpringHill Entertainment, Ladder, Klutch Sports Group, a Los Angeles, California-based American sports agency founded by Rich Paul, LeBron James’ closest friend, and sports agent, and numerous more investments.
He does have to worry about trading himself because the high schools for his two sons are in Los Angeles. He is a member of the billionaire club now, so he has to stay near Los Angeles. The reasons are endless, they lean toward the likelihood that the king will stay and finish his career with the Lakers.
You never know what’s going to happen tomorrow. According to a GM, he has recently been linked to the Warriors, and last week an executive claimed that if he were to join the transfer market heat would undoubtedly capture him. As a result, there are many rumors circulating about King’s future, but it is likely to remain a mystery.
