Stephen A. Smith on Will Smith assaulting Chris Rock

On Sunday night, as the world awaited the 94th Academy Awards festivity, Will Smith seemed to have taken the center stage for slapping fellow Chris Rock on Live TV. The latter was on stage to read-out the nominees for the Best Documentary Feature, when he used Will’s wife, Jada-Pinkett Smith’s bald head reference and cracked a joke. The aftermath of the scenario, went onto shock sports and NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith among every other person around the globe.

Evidently being on the stage and not cracking jokes, is surely not a ‘Chris-Rock’ thingy, so he decided to use Jada Pinkett’ Smith’s bald head reference for a G.I.Joe reference. Perhaps even the actress did not admire the joke, as her reaction was caught on camera Seconds later, Will Smith got onto the stage and smacked the life out of Chris Rock for doing so. While many initially thought of it as a joke, Will shouted for the audience, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fu***ng mouth.”

Later it was revealed that Smith’s wife and actress Jada Pinkett Smith had shaved her head after suffering from alopecia.

Moments after the incident where the world heard the astonishing sound of the slap, Will Smith won the best actor honors for his portrayal of tennis dad Richard Williams in King Richard.

“I’m being called on in my life to love people and to protect people and to be a river to my people,” Smith said during his acceptance speech. “I know to do what we do you’ve got to be able to take abuse.
