“You have nothing to prove” Stephen A. Smith delivers honest opinion on Klay Thompson’s form since return; Calls exclusion from NBA 75 Team ‘a travesty’

Stephen A. Smith and Klay Thompson

Stephen A. Smith is the most straightforward and brutally honest analyst the television has seen and he has proved it many times as he isn’t afraid of anyone when he says what he wants to. Recently, he made it to the headlines as he appreciated Klay Thompson for the efforts he has been showing off while also throwing in some shade for the guard. Stephen A. Smith though also acknowledged the return Klay Thompson has made to the league after being side-lined for two-plus years due to lower-body injuries and rehabilitation. His return so far with the Golden State Warriors has been great as there aren’t many names who bounce back this good after hurting their lower body on such a high level that too multiple times.

The Golden State Warriors have finally made it to the postseason after years of missing out. Lately, the season wasn’t that great for the Dubs as they were again suffering from injuries and had their stars missing games once again. The super trio of the Golden State Warriors of Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, and Draymond Green hasn’t even played a whole game together as injuries concerned them around. After Draymond Green now the greatest shooter of all-time Stephen Curry is sidelined due to an ankle injury. But he is good on the rehab and will be returning soon for the first round of playoffs against the Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets. Until then the charge is led by Klay Thompson.

The analyst has always been on the Dubs’ bus on all his honest takes. As he knows and has seen it for years that the team and Klay Thompson both have the potential to turn around everything in a playoff series.

Stephen A. Smith discussing the first-round series quoted: “I don’t believe the Golden State Warriors can win without Steph Curry but there’s a point I’d like to say about Klay Thompson…I have not been happy with what I’ve seen from Klay Thompson. he’s averaging 20 (points), 42% from the field, 38% from the three-point range. I’ve seen him take shots in a way that I haven’t seen him take them before. I’ve seen him fail to make that extra pass that he used to make, accepting his role as a third wheel in the past. I’ve seen him be out of character at times and I know why. Klay Thompson thinks he has something to prove. Klay Thompson, you have nothing to prove to anybody. We know you should’ve been on that damn all-time NBA 75 team, it’s a travesty that Klay Thompson wasn’t on that team. But what you’ve done is when you’ve been back. Even though you’ve had some great great games, there have been too many games where Klay Thompson has been playing like he has something to prove.”

Stephen A. Smith also addressed Klay as a future Hall of Famer and a top 5 shooter in league’s history. Everything he said made sense. As it is high time for the player to accept it and start as a leader for the team no matter Stephen Curry is back or not. Since the main aim is to advance in the series and win the championship while establishing the franchise as a dynasty once again and revenge on the league for the disrespect thrown in the past two years. Klay Thompson will play the most important role in this run as he is a real multi-positional guard who can take care of both the ends and have things in control with his great scoring ability.
