The NBA has fined the Philadelphia 76ers $100,000 for making public comments about Joel Embiid's health status.

It was not the news they expected, but the NBA fined the Philadelphia 76ers $100,000. The fine comes from their public statements regarding Joel Embiid’s health status. The league cited comments from president Daryl Morey and coach Nick Nurse as inconsistent with Embiid’s actual health.
Joel Embiid has missed the 76ers’ first three games due to a left knee condition. Although the NBA confirmed his inability to play, they fined the team for misleading statements. This is not the first time ‘The Process’ has dealt with knee issues, having played only 39 games last season.
Earlier, the former MVP said he won’t play back-to-back games to ease the load management. This statement had invoked the fury of fans and critics, who questioned his decision. Even legends like Kevin Garnett, Charles Barkley, and others criticized the decision.
Sources said the NBA’s investigation showed that the Sixers did not violate player participation policy with Embiid’s missed games, but in fact with the public comments that did not properly reflect his health issues with his knee. https://t.co/8HrLPpCVfv

Embiid’s health remains a focus after he lost over 25 pounds in the offseason to reduce stress on his knees. Despite this effort, his current knee issue remains unclear. The league investigated the team’s handling of Embiid’s injury but found no violation of the player participation policy.
Joel Embiid to miss 76ers’ Wednesday game with knee injuries
As the season progresses, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid will miss Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons due to knee injuries. The season has only started, but Embiid needs to return quickly and build fitness for the post-season.
Furthermore, Coach Nick Nurse declined to provide a timeline for their return. Embiid hasn’t had it easy with injuries, as he underwent knee surgery. He was also diagnosed with Bell’s palsy during the playoffs. The coach urged the importance of wanting to protect the players’ health.

The part fans will not like is the sad stats behind his absence, as the 76ers’ struggles without him are well-documented. They had a 31-8 record with him and 16-27 without him last season. With Paul George coming in during the off-season, the 76ers can stay afloat for now. However, their playoff success will solely depend on the return of Embiid.
