The UFC 310 PPV delivered as advertised, featuring flyweight title clash and undefeated welterweight prospects going head to head. The PPV event stood tall as the 18th highest grossing UFC event at the T-Mobile Arena, netting $5 million in gate. The final PPV card of the year may have done quite well in terms of business side of things, but it also saw one of its kind mishap in the form of torn shorts.
UFC brought forth a whole new trend of official fighter gear in 2015 with Reebok. Now, continuing the trend, they partnered with ‘Venum‘ in a historic deal that will last till 2029. Interestingly, for first the time, fans have witnessed a wardrobe malfunction during the co-main event featuring Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Garry. However, it was Garry who fell prey to his short being torn apart, causing a strange mishap.
The Irish mixed martial artist faced his career’s toughest challenge yet against the Kazakh fighter. Funny enough, it wasn’t just the fight that proved to give him a hard time, but his shorts as well. Midway into the fight, Garry’s team was compelled to make wardrobe adjustments by offering fresh shorts. This situation marks the first time in UFC history where a fighter was forced to switch gear mid fight.

Garry suffered his first professional loss, marking the end of his undefeated streak. The Irish fighter showcased the warrior spirit like manga character ‘Goku’ and took the loss in a positive stride. Despite the loss, Garry showed he remains a few improvements from challenging for the title. During the post fight presser, Garry also offered his reaction to the unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.

Moreover, the Irish star seemed confident about climbing the ranking in his next outing. After all, he pushed ‘Boogeyman’ Rakhmonov for the first time to all 5 rounds. Shifting his focus, Garry reacted to puzzling wardrobe malfunction during the post-fight presser.
Oddly enough, Garry seemed to never realize why his team forced him to switch gear. Puzzled by the request, the welterweight contender played along, but only uncovered the reason behind the switch during the presser. Garry offered his reaction to the bizarre incident and laughed it off as a once in lifetime incident.

After losing for the first time, Garry can focus on other challengers to lay claim as the next title contender. This win directly propels Rakhmonov into the title fight against Belal Muhammad in 2025. Unfortunately for Garry, he would need to beat a big name in the top 5 to earn the next crack at the welterweight gold.
